Edulantern.com - Penang Medical College RCSI & UCD Irish Dublin offer Medical Scholarship Programme for both Malaysian and International students to pursue undergraduate medical degree programme.
The five-year programme is accredited by both the Irish and Malaysian Medical Councils. For the first two and a half years of the programme, you will be based in Ireland and undertake biomedical and early clinical sciences studies in RCSI or UCD. Upon completion of your pre-clinical studies, you will return to Penang, Malaysia for a further two and a half years where you will complete rigorous and extensive clinical training.
Successful graduates of the five-year programme are awarded medical degrees from the National University of Ireland, receiving the same qualifications as those who complete a full programme in Ireland. Our medical programme is continuously and rigorously evaluated by professional external examiners from around the world. This ensures that PMC students receive the highest possible standard of medical training.
Eligibility:
1. Open to all International and Malaysian citizens applying to Penang Medical College.
2. Applicants are expected to obtain, a minimum of AAA at A-Levels or 40 points excluding bonus points at IBDP or equivalent.
3. Recipients of scholarships will be required to acknowledge the support provided by the scholarship programme in presentations or publications resulting from receipt of the scholarships and act as Student Ambassadors for the duration of the scholarships.
Required Documents:
1. Application Form.
2. An essay on the two topics below. The essays are compulsory and should contain 250 to 300 words each. Essays should be submitted in the space provided in the following pages.
(i) What life experiences have made you who you are today?
AND
(ii) Prevention or cure?
3. A Reference Letter from someone who has worked closely with you and who would be able to support you as being a worthy recipient of the scholarship. This person will not be the same as the general academic referee. The letter may be from, for example, the school principal, a relevant senior volunteer or a community leader.
How to Apply:
Applicant should apply for the medical degree programme at PMC for either RCSI or UCD pathways. If applicant successfully receive an offer, they can apply Undergraduate Medical Scholarship Programme in Malaysia.
